These images were photographed at Three Gems, a work by American artist James Turrell, located on the de Young museum grounds in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.

The space offers a contemplative environment to observe the elemental play of light and shadow while experiencing the hushed acoustics of its concrete vaulted space.

By removing color from these photographs, I hope to draw attention more clearly to the dynamics of illumination and the architectural form of Turrell's work.
