Hummingbirds—the smallest of all birds—are creatures of paradox: ethereal as angels yet aggressive as other earthbound souls. I captured these images with a wide-open lens, abandoning focus entirely to invite blur and motion against the chaotic background. All were taken at a hummingbird feeder in a tropical rainforest reserve in Southwest Ecuador.
